I would love to hear from some of the true expert players out there on how to do this even better and what to do differently at later levels. I also used a couple of slow gems in towers to help out the traps. Keep amp gems around 2 levels behind the main gem in order to keep mana requirements manageable. Obviously level 1 to 70 are done the usual way by working through fields. I am very far from an expert but thought people might benefit from my experience.
